The closer you move to God, the farther you move from fear.
The founder of Anand Dham Ashram-Tapovan-Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, His Holiness Shri Gurudev Anant Swami Atma Prakash Ji Maharaj had been performing penance on the banks of Mother Ganga since 1955. The journey to Uttarakhand's Char Dham pilgrimage sites, namely Yamunotri, Gangotri, Baba Kedarnath, and Badrinath, was extremely difficult and arduous. He observed that all the pilgrims to the Char Dham pilgrimage were experiencing great difficulty on the Himalayan footpaths without shoes.
At that time, the pilgrimage was done on foot, there was no proper arrangement for food and drink on the way. Laxman Jhula used to be the center point of the pilgrimage at that time, and there was no proper arrangement for night rest and food here.
Ganga Mai inspired the most revered Gurudev Swami Atma Prakash Ji Maharaj to make arrangements for night rest and food for the pilgrims of Char Dham. With a lot of effort, in the year 1960, he purchased land and started the arrangement of a small room, hall and canteen for the pilgrims. And with the money donated by the pilgrims, their food and accommodation and warm clothes, shoes, umbrellas and raw food items were provided to the sadhus going on the pilgrimage from here. Gradually, the number of devotees started increasing and considering the difficulties faced by the Char Dham pilgrims and saints during the journey, all the food items/umbrellas/warm clothes started being given to them as gifts from here. Swami ji then expanded this project through Katha-Bhajan and discourses and by expanding it an organization was formed whose name was kept as Vishwa Manav Satsang Parishad, which was registered by the government and propagated through Satsang all over the country, as a result of which today all the necessary items like warm clothes, blankets, food items etc.
are being sent to the ascetics, saints and sadhus living in the entire Himalayas, along with this, Dakshina and raw food items are being distributed to all the Swapathi Mahatmas living in Rishikesh and its surrounding areas on the 15th of every month in the form of "Sadavrat". Satsang Bhawan of Anand Dham Ashram has been opened in Rajasthan/Bihar/Jharkhand and other states, due to which thousands of devotees are taking benefit of Satsang.
